Since 2013, Bruin Entrepreneurs has inspired those to BE the Next Big Thing. As an aim to make the resources of entrepreneurship equitable, we launched the Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Map (EEM), used by undergraduate students, graduate students, faculty, professional staff, and aspiring entrepreneurs at UCLA and beyond.
What is the EEM?
The Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Map (EEM) at UCLA, developed by Bruin Entrepreneurs, is the official entrepreneurial resource for entrepreneurs interested in creating and developing their ventures. Our goal is to make searching for resources to be a successful venture, especially for student entrepreneurs, equitable and accessible.
In 2021, the EEM was developed as a guide by Bruin Entrepreneurs’ 9th President Paolo Shamoon. Since then, different Bruin Entrepreneurs administrations have aimed to develop the resource throughout the UCLA Community. In 2024, Bruin Entrepreneurs’ 11th President Nathan Lim piloted the digital EEM as a live website with training guides curated by Project Coordinators as part of their transition requirement to Project Manager. The resource is now catered to not only UCLA students, but staff, faculty, and aspiring entrepreneurs to see resources that would help them with their professional development and venture creation.
The Map
The Map is designed as a resource guide for students (both UCLA students and students at other campuses), staff, faculty, and entrepreneurs to see resources and places to develop professional, academic, and personal development as well as venture funding, case competitions, and more.
Training Readings
Staff at Bruin Entrepreneurs go through an extensive training series to learn about the entrepreneurial ecosystem and develop purpose behind intent in an effort to deepen the emphasis of the organization tagline. But the process for training is not always internal for those who perform venture services. Training and strengthening professional development within growing leaders who wish to create their ventures is important. As such, as part of Lim’s administration of Bruin Entrepreneurs, Training Readings were added to the EEM. Staff at Bruin Entrepreneurs share their experiences and research in the Training Readings resource in the EEM that contains readings and activities that emphasize and highlight important professional development key points to consider and be reminded of in the entrepreneurial discovery.
